Gravestone Inscriptions Volume 7: County Down, Baronies of Dufferin and Lecale by Clarke, R. S. J An Duinnineach by O Conluain, Proinsias & O Ceilachair, Donncha The Listener January - June by Twisk, Russell (editor).   Gravestones can tell us much more about the deceased person than just their birthdate and following examples of real epitaphs contain interesting family history. Some have children, some have none. Here lies the mother of twenty-one.. Of children in all, she bore the Lord there will be no more.. Here lies the body of William Strutton of Paddington, .

Other Gravestone Styles - There are a variety of other interesting gravestones dated to but no one style is found in large numbers. A sampling is shown below. The majority of nineteenth century gravestones up to are plain displaying only the inscription often on a rectangular stone. Our distances are not driving distances, but are calculated as a 'point-to-point' distance. A straight line distance ignores things like rivers, canyons, lakes, et cetera - it's truly a line drawn from Point A (ie- Almonte) to Point B.
